BeSafe have always tested their car seats for side-impact, although this has never been a requirement under the previous regulations ‘ECE’. This is why they are able to launch one of the world’s first i-Size approved car seats, the iZi Kid-Size so soon after the introduction of the Regulations in 2013.

During the development of iZi Modular through numerous tests we identified that side-impact protection could be enhanced still further. The result is their new, innovative solution ‘SIP+’, Side Impact Protection +.

SIP+ is an energy absorbing cushion that is easily clicked directly onto the car seat to reduce the distance to the car door. If a collision occurs SIP + will absorb the energy and reduce the movement of the car seat. This greatly reduces the load that the child is exposed to.

Crash tests have shown that SIP+ also optimizes safety on some of their other models. Based on this, all of their i-Size approved child seats will be available with SIP + as standard.
